Usually indie films don't have any main stars to show in their film, and this film is the same. The stars of the film don't have any previous experience in film acting and aren't well known. The main male character of the film (Dave John) is an English comedian, writer and actor, however he isn't well known in the acting community so that's why he was used in this indie film.
